console-setup-pc-ekbd software package provides encoded FreeBSD keyboard layouts for PC keyboards, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install console-setup-pc-ekbd
console-setup-pc-ekbd is installed in your system.
Make ensure the console-setup-pc-ekbd package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep console-setup-pc-ekbd *
You will get with console-setup-pc-ekbd package name, version, architecture and description in a table
